This is the first in a series of posts about my new Windows Phone 7 book that's about to be released. As Amazon does not yet list the Table of Contents, here's an exclusive look at the book's chapters!

There are 50 chapters in Volume I, one per app, plus a few appendices. The most important appendix is the first one, which lists all the lessons in alphabetical order and points you to the appropriate chapter. Pravin,

Yes, it does explain Silverlight fundamentals, and I think it's a great book for newcomers. It doesn't do it _before_ starting on the apps, but the first few apps are sufficiently simple that each one is able to introduce new lessons. The first 11 chapters basically form a book on Silverlight, with some phone-specific lessons sprinkled in. I'll post a more detailed Table of Contents next.

Thanks!
Adam

I read your WPF 4 book and it was awesome. And as i just scored a new WP7 i cant wait till your book comes out (il definently buy it).
Just a couple of questions though:
When will it be released?
What book do you recomend for XNA wp7 games?
And also can u create silverlight games that apear in the games hub?

Isaac,

Thanks! The book was released last week. I don't currently have a recommendation for an XNA game book. Yes, you can absolutely create Silverlight games that appear in the Games hub. My book discusses this in Chapter 1, and it has examples of Silverlight games (such as Darts in Chapter 40).

Hi Adam,

Your book looks great so I've grabbed a copy for my Kindle. How do I go about getting hold of the example source code listings?... I'd rather not have to type them in! I've visited InformIT.com but it doesn't seem set-up for Kindle purchases. Any ideas?

Cheers
Jason.
